Raymond "Ray" Francis Martinez, born October 16, 1930 in Chackbay, Louisiana, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012. He was 81 years of age and a resident of Raceland, Louisiana.

Surviving are his wife, Yvonne Thibodeaux Martinez; sons, Richard Martinez and Joseph Edwin Martinez; daughters, Mary Lynn Dufrene and Ann Naquin; step-children, Tina Fonseca, Levery Fonseca, and Carla Landry; brothers, Leo Martinez and Marian Martinez; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Martinez and Eugenia Torres Martinez; brother, George Martinez; 1 great-grandchild.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 9 am until 10:00 am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Thibodaux, Louisiana with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family expresses their gratitude to Amedysis Hospice, in particular, Tammy, Melissa, Tamika, and Suzette. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Joseph Seminary College (also known as St. Ben's) in Covington, Louisiana and Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana.
